A proposal to bring a retail cannabis store to Cornwall has been submitted to the government for approval.
Shiny Bud Cannabis Co. has submitted an application to open a store at 612 Pitt St. The public noticed period has commenced and will conclude at midnight on June 9.
“Residents of Cornwall have an opportunity to submit comments to the AGCO determining whether the location is in the public interest,” said Raymond Kahnert, senior advisor of communications for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO).
The AGCO is the governing body responsible for the safe, responsible and lawful sale of cannabis, consistent with the legislation enacted by the provincial government. Its regulatory objectives are to ensure that the retail sale of cannabis in Ontario is carried out with honesty, integrity and in the public interests.
